In late 2005, Andrew, Matt and Guy
got together for a jam session. At the time, a local busking
competition was being advertised. The boys thought to enter
the comp. but were keen on getting a bass player. After some
conversation, Mark came in and had a blow. Together we formed a
group, called ourselves The Four Busketeers, entered and won
the Fleurieu Peninsula's Easter Jazz Festival Busking
Competition. -THE BIRTH- - Quadratonez at Rankine's Landing, where the name 'Quadratonez' was created. |

FAREWELL TO MARK |
|
|||||||||
Quadratonez are keen on creating interesting music, with a lean towards funk and harmonically interesting tunes. Some of our favourite musicians include Kenny Garrett, Miles Davis, James Morrison, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Victor Wooten, Buddy Rich, Planet X and John Blackwell. To find out what's happening with us at the moment, check out our News page, where our current whereabouts are documented. |
On January the 15th of 2008, Mark Chatfield, Quadratonez' original bass player, left the band. Mark had been with Quadratonez since it's inception and has performed at all but one gig Quadratonez have played up until his departure. As the chief recording and editing engineer behind Quadratonez' album, Better Late than Never, Mark's contribution to the band has been immense. Having more time on his hands now, Mark will focus his energies on his studies at Flinders University.
It is sad to see him go, but Mark has left his mark on modern jazz and
funk on the South Coast of S.A. |
